A Court of Mist and Fury

Alright. Alright. I get it now. I get it NOW. I read A Court of Thorns and Roses a couple of months ago and, while I enjoyed it, I did not see what all the fuss was about. Now though....I get it. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas picks up where A Court of Rose and Thorns left off. Feyre has just come out from Under the Mountain, she is back home in the Spring Court with Tamlin, but now has a binding contract to spend one week a month with Rhysand, High Fae of the Night Court. Tamlin is Feyre's love and she can barely look at Rhysand without grimacing. So, this should be good...

Let the love triangle ensue! This enemies turned lovers story had me absolutely hooked. Feyre is grappling with what she was subjected to by Amarantha and Tamlin has her under lock and key, for fear of her falling into harms way once again. Rhys becomes a breath of fresh air for Feyre and eventually feelings ensue.

I heard this one is steamy and that chapter 55 is "the chapter." Let me tell you, the hype is real. After I finished ACOTAR, I was a bit confused on why everyone was raving so highly. This series has somewhat of a cult following. I was told to stick it out for book 2 because that is when things get better. I am here to tell you, that is true! The character development with Feyre and Rhys drove the anticipation up a notch and had me on the edge of my seat. I finished this book with an intense desire to pick up the third. And this is coming from someone who usually does not read series', let alone back to back.

If you are reading, or have read, A Court of Thorns and Roses and you are feeling like I did, I highly recommend you stick it out and check out A Court of Mist and Fury. If you are reading and are still hesitant, keep going until you get to chapter 55 and then come back and tell me what you think. I guarantee you won't even take a break to come chat with me because your eyes will be glued to Maas' incredible faerie world.

Side note: I am dabbling with the bullet journal world. Let me know what you think!

Happy reading!

Mel
