Thank you to Penguin Books and Bibliofinder for the gifted copy of A Good Man by Ani Katz!

What do you get when you take a man with a fragile ego and put him under immense pressure to provide for his wife, daughter, mother, and sisters, work a high stress job in order to do so, and mix in an intense psyche that strives for perfectionism in all aspects of his life? You get a guy that snaps. This psychological thriller centers around Thomas and his seemingly perfect life. He has an adoring wife who tends to the home, while he works his high buck job in the city. He has a beautiful daughter who is the leader among her friends, even though she might not make the best choices at times. He has a mother and younger twin sisters who live in his childhood home and depend on him financially. From the outside looking in, he seems to have the perfect life, but inside Thomas', the pressure is slowly mounting.

I changed my opinion on Thomas almost every other chapter. I pitied him, I felt sympathy for him, I was disgusted by him, and I was horrified by him. This book will keep you on your toes and it packs a punch for only being just over 200 pages long. I love a good psychological thriller and live for the twists that I cannot get off my mind. While being a good read, the twist was not groundbreaking for me (I think of The Silent Patient when I think of a twist that I never saw coming.) But nonetheless, A Good Man is worth the read. I gave it ★★★★ and I probably would not have heard for it if it was not for Bibilofinder, so thank you for the opportunity to read and review!

If you enjoy thrillers with a dark twist, give this one a shot. It reads quickly, not to mention the cover is eye catching (those greens are to DIE for-pun intended. 😉)

Happy reading!

Mel
