Happy Saturday everyone! My husband went ice fishing this weekend, so I have been enjoying cuddling and playing with the boys. We went to the gym and I was able to get a solid hour of yoga in, while they played in the daycare, then we took a trip to the library to get them more books. My oldest is currently obsessed with all things bugs. I picked him up books about beetles and he spent days reading them and pointing out the different kinds of bugs. He has a bucket full of tiny plastic bugs, which I found lovingly piled in my bedspread last night when I was trying to go to sleep. If there has been one thing I have learned growing up with three brothers and raising two young boys, it is that I will always find weird and gross things hidden in my bed!
At the library, we went on the hunt for books about spiders, ants, and bees, per my mini dictator’s request. We found everything we were looking for and snagged a copy of Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty. Nine Perfect Strangers has been on my TBR list and I have been on the waiting list for ages. I am a big fan of Liane Moriarty and have read some of her other books: Big, Little Lies, The Husband’s Secret, and What Alice Forgot. I found this gem on the “one week checkout” shelf and snatched it up. I am heading to San Diego tomorrow for work, so I plan on reading that and A Woman is No Man by Etaf Rum. That is one I got in my first Book of the Month shipment and I am really excited to read it. I am excited to enjoy some sun and get away from the frozen tundra.
I recently finished Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens and was completely entranced. This one ranks as one of my all-time favorite books I have read this year; maybe in several years. Below is the book description:

Delia Owens did such a beautiful job writing this book. It was a complete page turner and I felt so connected to the main character, Kya. Kya is reclusive and the marsh was so important in the book, it was basically its own character. I loved how Owens used nature metaphors with human tendencies and interactions. The writing was so visual, I could imagine every scene. I recently learned that this book is going to be made into a movie by Reese Witherspoon and I am beyond excited to see it.
